Travis Software to Add Year 2001 Form 5500 to TravisFlex as Soon as Approved by Department of Labor

Once again this year, Travis Software Corp. will update TravisFlex for Windows and TravisFlex/CS so that users of the system may produce Department of Labor-approved "bar code" Year 2001 Form 5500's for welfare benefit plans.

The DOL has indicated they will finalize specifications for the Year 2001 Form 5500 by March 31, 2002. Once Travis receives their specifications, then as we have done for the Year 1999 and Year 2000 Form 5500's, we will program the changes and release an update to the TravisFlex system so that users who subscribe to the Support and Update Plan for TravisFlex will be able to generate the Year 2001 Form 5500's for clients by their submission due date.

Also, beginning in the Spring, 2002, Travis will offer a "carved out" Form 5500 generation program, specifically designed to produce Form 5500's for welfare benefit plans only, which can be licensed for use by insurance consultants and brokers who don't administer flexible benefit plans but do need to produce Form 5500's for their clients. This separate system, to be named "Travis5500" will be announced when it is tested and ready for delivery to users.

The new Form 5500 capability is part of Travis' commitment to keeping the TravisFlex family of systems up-to-date with the latest administrative requirements of flexible benefit plans.
