Travis Software Releases a Double Sided Printing Module
Houston, TX -- August 4, 2005 -- Travis Software Corp., a market leader of Advanced Employee Benefits Software Administration and provider of TravisCobra software, announced today the availability of a Double-Sided Printing Module.
"We've seen the average COBRA Election Notice grow from a four-page, one-ounce package in 2003 to as much as a 21-page behemoth today if there are three or more HIPAA Certificates!" says Alan H. Williams, founder and President of Travis Software Corp. "That means the cost of mailing a COBRA Election Notice can be as much as $1.06 today (first ounce at 37 cents, the next three at 23 cents) and these prices do not include paper, envelopes or the proposed 2006 postal rate increase of 2 cents per ounce. Also, the COBRA General Notice is now at least 8 pages and costs $.60 to mail, compared to 37 cents prior to this year."
"We felt it was time to do something to allow our users to reduce their postage costs on COBRA administration letters. We've done it, and it can cut your postage costs substantially by having TravisCobra print these letters and notices on the front and back of the paper." adds Williams.
Travis Software is pleased to announce that TravisCobra now has a "Double Sided Printing Module" which allows the longer notices printed by the system to be printed on the front and back sides of the paper! You need a printer that can print on both sides of the paper, and if the letters printed by TravisCobra are directed to that printer, the COBRA General Notices, Election Notices and HIPAA Certificates will come out printed on both sides.
And the Module is smart! For example, the COBRA Enrollment Form, which needs to be printed on its own piece of paper since it may need to be returned to you, doesn't have anything printed on the back of it. Neither does the Waiver Letter (if you print that) and other pages that may need to be returned. The typical one-page letters that should not be printed in double-sided mode are still printed one page at a time.
"In our own testing, the Double Sided Printing Module saved at least one ounce, and sometimes two ounces, of postage on each COBRA Election Notice, no matter how long. That's 23 cents per notice at today's prices, and $.25 per notice if the proposed new rate passes for January, 2006" says Randy Saad, Director of Support Services. "So if you send 500 COBRA Election notices or more per month currently, you'll save about $115 each month using the new module, $125 each month next year. If you send out more Election notices each month, or if you also use TravisCobra to produce the COBRA General Notice, your savings will be even greater."
The Module installs quickly, and once installed with TravisCobra and routed to your duplex printer, the letters that should be printed in double-sided mode will begin to be printed that way.
To introduce the Double Sided Printing Module, Travis is offering a special price until September 30, 2005. And it's the best "Special Price" ever offered! Regularly priced at $2,595, the TravisCobra Double Sided Printing Module will license for just $995 during the special period. Using the numbers mentioned above this module will pay for itself in just a few months!
If you don't have a printer that is capable of printing on both sides of paper, Travis Software has already done the research for you. Several printers capable of double sided printing can be recommended. Depending on your existing printer, you may only need to purchase a $100 kit that will help accomplish Double Sided Printing.
To determine how much can be saved by using both sides of the page for letters, you can choose to run two reports in your TravisCobra system. The first report is the Employer Letter Issued Report (Employer Report D) that will show a list and total of all notification sets printed in a date range. The second is the Certificate of Mailing (Employer Report F) which will display all of a certain type of letter or letters that were printed in a date range with a total at the bottom of the report.
"It's not often we can offer you a module of TravisCobra that provides you with provable, hard-dollar money savings, and a payback that is easily calculated; take advantage of the savings while you can! Unlike the auto companies, we will not be extending our extraordinary discount offer once it expires on September 30th" says Williams.
