State Coverage Continuation
TravisCobra was originally designed to help you administer the Federal COBRA law --- in 2003, we added modules to help you administer State Continuation Laws as well. Each module, which integrates completely with your current TravisCobra system, contains a State Letter Writer and the ability to configure your plans to help with Continuation and Election periods and premium and fee billing.
Groups With Over 20 Employees
Certain states have signed into law a requirement that gives Continuing Coverage that exceeds the Federal COBRA law.
To help you administer these "Over 20" groups, you can purchase TravisCobra "State 2" modules. The following states are available:
- California
- Connecticut
- Georgia
- Illinois
- Louisiana
- Massachusetts
- Minnesota
- Missouri
- New Hampshire
- Oregon
- Rhode Island
- Texas
Groups With Under 20 Employees
Certain states have signed into law a requirement that gives Continuing Coverage to Group Health Plans for groups that have fewer than 20 participants. Since they have less than 20 participants, they are generally not subject to the Federal COBRA Law.
To help you administer these "Under 20" groups, you can purchase TravisCobra "State 1" modules. The following states are available:
